Don was born to Raymond and Marion Grenier on October 6, 1927, in Donnersgrove, IL. He was an only child. Don served in the Army during WWII. He worked in the fiberglass boat industry for over 50 years.

He helped build the Jolly Roger boat company and his own company DonJo. He served as a fireman in California as well as helping to construct Disneyland. Don married his beautiful wife, JoAnn, on February 17, 1972 in 1 Spokane and honeymooned in Las Vegas. He would tell the story, We had $300.00 and left during a snowstorm. We were some kind of crazy." Don adored his seven children.

His favorite hobbies were gambling and golf. Don also enjoyed fishing. He never let his sons forget who caught the biggest one. Don brought joy and laughter to everyone he was near. He will be greatly missed.

Don is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, Renee Podell, Greg Grenier, Mike Grenier, Schwagers, Pamela Barker, a and Janet Martin; grandchildren, Don Grenier, Jessica Brown, Maria John Noah, Theresa Noah, Rachel Noah, Christy Podell, Micheal Podell, A Zack Grenier, Daniell Noah, Noah, and Kenton Barker; and four greatgrandchildren. GRIEPP, Esther Her two sons, 11 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren will retain an everlasting memory of Esther Griepp rocking in her recliner, praying for each of them by name. Her God was with her in life and death, which came June 17 in her apartment at Fairwinds Retirement Home, where other residents enjoyed her piano playing at Sunday afternoon worship services before Alzheimer's took its toll on her activities. She was a long-time member and musical asset of Trinity Baptist Church, where the Education Building is named for her late husband R.A.

Griepp, who predeceased her in 1993. They were married 58 years and moved to Spokane in 1957 from Kalispell, MT. In the 1970s she held several elected positions in the local Gideon's Bible Society Auxiliary and traveled the country as a national officer of Christian Women's Clubs. Her life's vocation was Christian homemaker her avocation was grinding wheat and baking bread, rolling out lefse, preparing gingerbread boys and girls, praying for others, making sure everyone took the vitamins and tickling the ivories for family singalongs. Esther was born to Gustav and Emma Anderson on July 10, 1916 in Wildrose, ND.

She and her surviving sister Mildred Beem, Springfield, NO, grew up and graduated from high school in Alamo, ND, where they both worked as maids and waitresses in the family-owned tenroom hotel and Esther is survived by two sons Virgil Griepp, and his wife Sharon, Spokane, and their children Doug Griepp, Spokane, David Griepp, Phoenix, Brenda Reynolds, Renton, and Doug Taylor, Shorline; and Winston Griepp, and his wife Susanne, Chewelah, and their children Weston Griepp, Chewelah, Freedom Griepp, Spokane, Sky Griepp, Chewelah, and Natalie Griepp, Aliso Viejo, CA two other children, Ashley and Rain, predeceased Esther. Another son, Darrell, was killed in an auto crash in 1980 his children are Nicole Redman, Walla Walla, Chad Griepp, Redmond, and Angie Soulier, Bellingham. He loved spending time working with his wife around their small farm, gardening and feeding the especially his cow His favorite moments were spent working on the family farm with his brothers, fixing cars with his nephews and taking a break to watch NASCAR with his mom. Jerome worked as a Journeyman Carpenter for Levernier Construction and was a member of the Carpenters Local 1691 for 17 years. Paul Levernier and his crew have been a tremendous support during this difficult time.

He is survived by his wife Toni L. Brunner; son Erik; mother Hazel Brunner; siblings: Tom and wife Sally, Suzanne, Francis and wife Connie, Michael, Albert and wife Louise, Anita and husband Steve, Geoffrey and wife Sue. His numerous nieces and nephews include: Gina and husband Jared, Paul and wife Jennifer, Michelle, Mary Theresa and husband David, Brian, Jodi, Brian, Danny, Patricia, Daniel, Cassandra, Matthew, Brady, Cailin, Kasey, Ryan, Joseph, Justin; great-nephews: Vincent, Dillon, Jamison and Jace; great-neices: Brittany and Nicole. Jesse and Josh Holderman were also very special to Jerome. He was greeted in Heaven by his father, Roman and sister, Theresa.

He was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle who showed uS true determination and strength through several struggles with cancer. His acts of generosity and his kind loving nature made the world a gentler place. He is now in the arms of the Lord where every tear has been erased and pain is no more. DAUENHAUER, Eva Jeanne (Sowers) On June 16, 2008 heaven gained a gentle and loving soul when Eva J. Davenhauer passed away at Deaconess Hospital after a short brave battle with cancer. Eva was born in Spokane, WA on March 24, 1948 to Clarence and Mary June Sowers. Graduated from Adam Elementary and with the first class of Ferris High School in 1966. She gained her B.A.

in Education from E.W.U. in 1970 and her Masters in Education from Gonzaga University. Eva started her teaching career as a special education teacher for Riverside and Deer Park School District. In 1971, after the birth of her first son, she joined the staff of Liberty School District where she completed her career after 32 years. After retirement from teaching, she became an educational consultant for Houghton Mifflin for Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

Eva is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, and her greatest pride and accomplishment, her sons Matthew (Kettle Falls), and Seth (Spokane). She was also survived by her mother Mary Sowers (Spokane), sisters, Christen Smith (Tony), also of Spokane and many nieces and nephews, a host of friends, both in the Spokane area and at her winter home in Gold Canyon Arizona. Eva was preceded in death by her father Clarence, brothers, William (Sonny) and Richard Sowers. Eva was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, Liberty Education Association, Rockford Gun Club and Painted Hills Ladies Golf League. A heartfelt thank you to lifelong friend Judy Bacon, retirement buddy Sammie Fletcher, as well as sister-in-law Gretchen Dauenhauer, the nurses and doctors of Deaconess Hospital and the staff of Dr.

She was born May 6, 1951 in Spokane to Bill and Ruth Cleveland. Denise graduated from West Valley High School in 1969 and from Eastern Washington University in 1974 with a nursing degree. She was employed as a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Medical Center for 33 years. On May 23, 1981 she married Gerald (Buzz) Anderson in Bellevue, WA. She was the devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Corey and Casey, both of Spokane.

Her interests included spending time with her family, reading, playing the piano, and travel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth (2000) and Bill (2007). Denise was our much loved angel on earth and words cannot adequately express the void in our lives in her passing. Left to mourn her loss are her husband, Buzz, sons Corey and Casey, all of Spokane, sister Deanna (Larry) Mack, brothers Ron (Jan), Don (Gale), and Jerry (Joan). Boothe, 91, of Raleigh, NC formerly of Montvale, NJ and Ocean Gate, NJ died June 18, 2008. He was born in Okanogan, WA on November 2, 1916 to the late James H. and Georgine Boothe. James earned his PhD at the University of Minnesota and enjoyed a career working at Lederle in Pearl River, NY. He was an accomplished research chemist who was instrumental in the development of two major antibiotics during the early 1950's.

James was an active member of the American Chemical Society and also loved traveling and gardening. He and his wife Jane Hill traveled to many foreign locations. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane; daughters, Susan Larson and husband John of Kansas City, KS and Pamela Stout and husband Drew of Cary, NC; sister, Ethel Boothe; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters. A memorial, service will be held 4:00 p.m.

Clark, the only child of Carl and Mary Hege, was born in Spokane on December 11, 1925. Clark graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and attended the University of Idaho, where he lived in the Phi Gamma Delta House. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Korea, and then attended the University of California at Berkley, where he received a degree in real estate.

He moved back to Spokane in 1950 and joined his father in the management of Hege Realty Company. He ran the family owned business until 1990, when he retired. During his long and successful career, he was active in many industry organizations and served as the President of the Spokane Board of Realtors. In 1960 he married Grace "Sis" Lemley of Coeur d'Alene, and they have lived in Spokane, where they raised their family, Clark and Sis spent summers at Hayden Lake, ID. Clark loved being at the lake and spent as much time there as possible.

He was an avid golfer his entire life and will be missed by his many friends at Hayden Lake Country Club. Clark, also an ardent bridge player, had many card-playing friends in Spokane and Hayden. Clark is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sis, his four children and their spouses: Kris Mikkelsen (Chris) (Spokane); Sarah Impecoven (Kirk) (Spokane); Terri Beloit (Rick) (Puyallup, WA) and Scott Hege (Betsy) (The Dalles, OR), as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He passed away on June 18, 2008 in Spokane surrounded by his family Gene attended West Valley High School before joining the U.S. Marine Corp in 1944. After his service to his country, he attended Washington State College and earned a B.A. in 1952 and later an M.A. While at Washington State, he played football and served as the Captain of the football team.

He was a charter member of the Grey W. Club. While at Washington State College, he met the love of his life, Marlys Stewart. They were married on August 8, 1953. They had a long and happy marriage of 54 years together.

They have four children; Debra Rieger Vaudrin, Millwood WA; John (MaryAnn) Rieger, Spokane Valley, WA; Merri Rieger, Maple Valley, WA; and Tom Rieger of Spokane, WA. He loved his grandchildren; Brandi, Rieger, Ventura, CA; Joshua Rieger, Spokane Valley, WA; Summer (David) Milson, Colbert, WA; and his great grandchild Johnathan Eugene Rieger. Gene is survived by his brother Ed (Joanne) Rieger, Liberty Lake, WA, sisters; Linda (Carl) Shultz, Spokane, WA and Adeline Fairchild, Cheney, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gene dedicated 30 years of his life as an educator in the Spokane area. He started his career in education as an Industrial Arts Teacher and Coach at West Valley High School.

He then went on to become principal of Leavenworth and Freeman High School. In 1965 he became Superintendent of the Freeman Schools. He finished out his career as Dean of Extension Education of the Washington Community College District 17. Gene served as Director of the State Basketball Tournament and served on the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association as a Board Member and President. He served as the West Valley Levy Chair for many years.

He was inducted into the West Valley Hall of Fame in 1997. Gene loved gardening, fishing, and hunting, and his time with his family at the cabin at Sullivan Lake. Viewing will be held Friday, June 20, 2008 from 12:00 to 4:00 at Hennessey Valley Chapel, 1315 N. Pines, Spokane Valley. She also had Steve and Steve's mom who became her best friend and adopted mom, who loved her to the end. We will really miss her. WEGER, Jean (Age 88) Born on January 10, 1920 to William and Bess Harris, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, brothers, Dwight and Wendall, and a sister Ruth. She is the loving mother and mother-in-law of Bill and Kathy Weger, Barb Barrier, and Paula and Eldon Umbach.

Her grandchildren are Glenn, Kristie, Ben, Tony, Todd, Clint, Jenny, and Trevor. Her great-grandchildren are Tony, Madison, Lydia, Brigham, Austin, Jocelyn, and Riley. Jean's extended family are Jolynn, Wendy, Gus, Evan, and families. She graduated from Mead High School, Class of 1938. After World War II, she and Harold owned and operated their dairy farm on Wild Rose Prairie for many years.

Jean was an avid bowler, she attended Wild Rose Methodist Church, and she is a member of the Wild Rose Homemakers Club, Dairy Wives, Hixs and Chixs Square Dance Club, F.0. of Eagles, Aerie 3564 Auxiliary in Deer Park and the Eagle's CBRV Club. Jean was a tremendous athlete following and supporting her kids and grandkids in all sports, and she truly enjoyed playing pinochle.
